I went to a Target and couldn't find the normal market cafe.
I wanted either their soft pretzel, or an ICEE. Their pretzels are a great deal, for $2.50 with cheese included. Compared to $6-$8 at a stadium, and another $1 -$1.50 for a dipping sauce.
Instead, was a Starbucks cafe.
I asked what happened to the normal market cafe.
They said Starbucks bought them out. And so they remodeled the cafe in late November.
I then went to Guest Services, and asked more about the change.
Who would rather go to a Starbucks at a Target? You can find Starbucks anywhere. Not only that, but the coffee is marked up at the cafes inside of Target stores.
The popcorn; soft pretzels; and ICEEs were the best things at the old Target cafes.
It was something I looked forward to at a Target, because you can't find many ICEE flavors or too many pretzel flavors elsewhere.
I don't want to go to a mall either and pay $5.50 for a pretzel, when the Target cafe had them for 45% of the price.
I looked up where I can find ICEEs. It's now gas stations and Burger Kings. They're probably not going to have 3 - 4 flavors like Target did.
I'm surprised I can't find any articles on the internet about Starbucks taking over the Target cafes. Or any internet forum like reddit, talking about it.
I also don't get ICEEs at movie theaters, because those prices are rip-off prices. I always told myself just to wait to go to Target in the future.

I would get a popcorn at Target once in a while. What did they say at Guest Services?

I would get a popcorn at Target once in a while. What did they say at Guest Services? Yeah, it's great to have fresh popcorn for $2. It might have even been $1.50. They said that Starbucks "bought out" the Market Cafes. But, that there might be a few stores that still have both. On a separate note, Costco used to sell those soft pretzels for $1 through the late 90s, but stopped. So now that's two major retail stores (Costco, Target) that stopped selling those soft pretzels for cheap. I don't think Costco had the dipping sauce, though. And as I said earlier, I think it's stupid to pay more for coffee just because it's inside a Target. I went to a retail Starbucks right after I left to compare the prices, and my suspicious were correct. That the prices inside the Target were marked up.

You know those frozen soft pretzels come pretty close in taste. Unless the experience of eating them out is the issue.

You know those frozen soft pretzels come pretty close in taste. Unless the experience of eating them out is the issue. Is there a brand you recommend? They all seem about the same. They are with the other frozen stuff. Usually sold in boxes of 6 or so. You moisten them. Drop on some salt from the little packet and nuke them for recommended time. 30 seconds. I’m gonna have some tonight. I got some a couple weeks ago and now I have a craving. They’re quite good, IMO. Don’t know where u live but most stores seem to carry them in Michigan. Less so in Idaho. .

I think 30 seconds offhand. But read the instructions.

I'd probably try the toaster oven so they can come out a little crispier, or at least I can try experimenting and varying the crispiness.

Costco will deliver a 20 count of SuperPretzel for $10.39.
I'm going to call the Costco Business Center location tomorrow and see if they have them at the retail location.

That's 52 cents per pretzel. That's a good price. I can get a 60-pack from Sam's Club for $36.90, which amounts to about 61 cents a piece.

Good find. When I checked Walmart yesterday, it said to visit the store to see the price.

Ok, I see what happened. I clicked on the 25 count. That one says to visit the store to get the price.
If I click on the 6 count one, it tells me the price.

Ok, by going to the retail location, it was $8.29, so $0.4145 a piece. About the same as Darth's Walmart price. I had to take them out of the box, to fit them in my freezer. They have a 2 bags inside with 10 pretzels each. And then a salt pack. I put the two rows of pretzels side by side, in a pull-out drawer in the freezer. It would be funny to see someone buy a 60 count box for home use. Even a 20 count is a little funny.
