Men's Draw:
FED's Quarter:
Fed vs. Coric 4th round: It's a best of 5, so advantage FED. FED in 4.
Querrey vs. Anderson 4th round: Toss up, but Querrey has played well the past 2 years, so advantage him. Querrey in 4.
FED vs. Querrey QF: Querrey has shown he can beat multiple top players. Wouldn't surprise me if he won. I'll go FED in 5.
Cilic's Quarter:
Cilic vs. Raonic 4th round: Cilic in 3. Better player.
Wawrinka vs. Dmitrov 1st round: I'm scared. Wawrinka hasn't had much sustained success this year. Still, I will root for Wawrinka! Wawrika in 4.
Isner vs. Wawrinka 4th round: This will be the first time Isner makes it past the 3rd round.
Wawrinka isn't ready.
Isner in 3.
Cilic vs. Isner QF: Cilic will probably win in 3. But I hope it's a good match.
Isner will probably not have more than 2 break points.
Alexander Zverev's Quarter:
Djokovic vs Sandgren 1st round: Sandgren wins a set. Djokovic in 4.
Thiem vs. Djokovic 4th round: Thiem in 3. Djokovic not as good as Thiem right now.
Krygios vs. Zverev 4th round: Krygios in 4.
Djokovic vs. Kyrgios QF: Krygios in 5. Kyrgios can have some good tourneys.
Nadal's Quarter:
Del Potro vs. Shapovalov 3rd round: Shapovalov in 5.
Nadal vs. Shapovalov QF: Nadal in 3. Not sure how well Shapoval does on this surface.
FED vs. Cilic SF: FED in 3. Sometimes this is a good matchup, but I think not this year.
Maybe I'm wrong.
Kyrgios vs. Nadal SF: Nadal in 4. Haven't seen Kyrgios have multiple big wins too many times.
FED vs. Nadal Finals: FED in 3. I'm not feeling a long match, either way. Not this time.
Women's Draw:
Halep's Quarter:
Halep vs. Kvitova QF: Halep's been the best player all year. Halep in 3. Maybe even 2.
Muguruza's Quarter:
Muguruza vs. Kerber QF: Kerber is inconsistent, but I just believe in her more. Kerber in 2.
Stephens Quarter:
Venus vs. Krystina Pliskova 2nd round: Whoever wins, it will be in 2 sets. I'll pick Venus, but neither winner would surprise me.
Venus vs. Karolina Pliskova 4th round: I'm going against the odds, but Venus in 3.
Stephens vs. Venus QF: Stephens in 2. This will already have been an exhausting draw for Venus.
Azarenka is also in this section, but I don't expect much, until she plays regularly.
Wozniacki's Quarter:
Wozniacki vs. Serena QF: Wozniacki in 2. Serena can do amazing things, but Wozniacki has played well enough this year to be given the benefit.
Halep vs. Kerber SF: This is becoming some kind of rivalry. No result would surprise me, but I'll pick a possible surprise and say Kerber in 3.
Stephens vs. Wozniacki SF: Wozniacki in 2. Just a guess.
Kerber vs. Wozniacki Finals: Very tough call. Kerber in 2.

I was an avid tennis player for 20 some years and would watch every tennis match televised that I could which usually meant the US Open and Wimbledon. It was great theater hating John Mcenroe, Jimmy Conners, and Illie Nastasse. But they outlawed poor behavior. Then everyone seemed like cardboard cutouts. Sampres, etc. Watching Martina Navritilova and Chris Everett. When I was in High School there was a huge argument on whether a woman could beat a man. So Billie Jean King played Bobby Riggs on National prime time tv.What a show. They brought out a live (chauvinist) pig. Bobby was older and talkin so much trash. I think everyone wanted BJK to destroy him and she did. Bunch of dykes back then so everyone thought Chris Everett was so cute. Now they have fashion models out there. Bjorn Borg was my idol and I played a baseline game like him.No style but true grit andI was fast. I got pretty good and I think if I played a set against a pro I obviously couldn’t win a set let alone a game. But I think I could’ve won a couple points. More with a female. No power but people used to say mine came down with snow on it. I developed a pretty decent serve and could volley forever. Great two handed backhand and decent forehand. Sucked at serve and volley (aggressive net game). I did beat a college player and finally beat a guy twice who played on a traveling team who killed me several times before that. One memory was at work these two very large macho guys heard I played tennis and one challenged me. I was a short skinny white guy and I kept telling them I would crush the challenger so Lemark and I finally played after months of them ahaking their heads and snickering. So after we played I worked with Eric three days and he finally said “well, you havent said a word about it so I take it you got spanked”! *Snicker snicker haha* I looked up at him and shrugged and said “No. Actually I beat him 6-0 and 6-1”. He looked at me a few seconds and saw I wasn’t joking. His mouth moved with no words for a couple seconds and he said “Oh” in a small weak voice. I looked at him and smirked and said “I told you so” and turned and walked away. Neither Eric nor Lemarck ever brought it up again. And neither did I.

Great post.
So Eric and Lemarck were the two "large macho guys", and Lemarck was the one that you played, right?
I watch every major, and sometimes I'll watch the Finals of non-majors. I can catch those on ESPN 2 or Tennis Channel.
The Australian Open has been my favorite major every year since 2012. I think it just has the best matches. And I think the conditions are great. No rain delays, etc.

I'm glad he's able to keep up his good play, since last year. Let's see what John Isner can do in the SFs. I've always liked how positive he's been in his career, and he doesn't let a loss get him down too much. He always thinks about what to do better next time. And I like how he's loyal to Georgia, where he played college tennis for 4 years.

No rain delays, etc. The French is a waste because nobody plays on clay. And Wimbledon is tradition. But who plays on grass anymore? I can’t remember but I think it really slows things down. Which in the men’s game is not so bad because now isserving and not much volleying. It all changed when they went to wider bracket has like the prince. And now it’s all graphite and other power materials. Yes I played Lemarck and Eric was the other guy. There are not many black people in Idaho. But I prefer their company. They are more real there. There are a lot of Hispanics also and I gravitate toward them too. I was really close to a few white people also. But Eric was about 6 foot two and the guy I played was about 5’11” So the dwarfed me. And I was not only white but I was small. So even though the guy I played did not play tennis that much They both assumed they would humiliate me.

Let me out that I am not one to just go around. But they had the audacity to think even though I played a lot they could just walk out and beat me because they were athletic. Particularly Lemark. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that I was going to slaughter him. Like I said it was 6-0 and 6-1. I did not intentionally give him a game but I think subconsciously I wanted him to get something and maybe I did try as hard as I could. Then went out and played a friend who didn’t play much and I lost 6-7. Didn’t feel right when I won those two sets from Lemark either. I learned a few months later that I had a life-changing debillitating disease. I’m not the regular form but the worst form that only 15% of people have. So… Like you know… I’m fucked . I enjoy reading but The reason I have read 49 books since January 1 is because there’s really nothing else I can do. I know, TMI. Ha ha.

I rented it the other day. It was decent. The guy that plays Borg had an amazing likeness. The McEnroe actor was okay.

I haven’t seen it but they had some great duels. Swedish classy gentlemen vs. spoiled, entitled, whiney, rude, obnoxious American. I loved hating on him and was sad when he quit. Conners was past his prime but gave them a rimun for their money. Conners mellowed but had grit so I started rooting for him.
That guy I played and finally beat was from Okemos or something. So he competed against the guy from Lansing (Todd something?) and got his ass kicked. The guy from Lansing was really good but never made it too far in the grand slam venues. He maybe made the final 8 and/or 16 once or twice?

That was still a great era for tennis (Agassi, Becker, Edberg, etc.).

Todd Martin is correct! You are right. When does Haikeys come reapear? IIRC,Speaking of that Comet...Mark Twain, was born the day it appeared. He said therefore he would die whenit came next. *I should’ve given 10 to 1 odds instead of 3 to 1. It was a sure thing.* Bill, wasn’t it funny when Yogi Bear said “Half the lies they tell about me aren’t true” * Yogi Bear actually WAS named after the very popular baseball legend in 1961. Berra was a household name at that time and filed a defamation suit. Hanna-Barbara’s weak defense was that it was a coincidence. Berra would’ve easily won but he backed down. Q: Who was Yogi’s character modeled after? Hint #1 not Berra. It makes sense when you think about the voice. Hint # The person was a character on the series The Flintstones were modeled after. Apparently, Hanna-Barbara copied more than just Yogi. Give up? Answers below ——————- Yogi was modeled after Art Carney’s character Ed Norton from the hit tv series the Flintstones copied called The Honeymooners

Very forgettable even though he was pretty successful.

My all-time favorite tennis player, male or female, is Steffi Graf, the "Fraulein Forehand".
She was exceptionally talented and reached great achievements by facing very tough competitors, some of them in their prime.
She is married to Andre Agassi and both of them are in Tennis Hall of Fame, creating so something unique: The only couple to be there.
She was slender but powerful. There are some who call her the female version of Roger Federer.
