Offense can struggle at any time when pitching is good. That's just what good pitching can do, they can get out of jams.
Both teams have shown a lot of tools. Houston has more power, but sometimes it's when a hit or walk is made, not how many.
I'll take the Nationals, but have no idea. They might have better starting pitching, but any pitcher at any time can give up runs.
I'm not sure if the Astros are going to go with Wade Miley in the rotation, they might use Brad Peacock or Colin McHugh instead.
Washington in 6.

The stolen base is for the Taco Bell stolen base predictions.

I kind of want to pick Strasburg for MVP, but don't want to change my game order.
I think it could still work out the way I said, so I'll do that.

Bottom of the 6th, bases super juiced for the Nationals, Astros up 4-0, 1 out.
The Astros had pulled "opener" Urquidy after 5 IP, even though he had only allowed 2 hits.

I'd rather the Nationals win in 6, but it would also be cool if they won by winning 4 road games.
Back in 2010-2011, I asked Maxell_CDR on the Magic board how many times a NBA series has been won by winning 0 road games, 1, road games, 2 road games, 3 road games and 4 road games. The ones where the series winner won 3 road games were interesting. 4 road games has never been done.
If I still knew how to contact him, I wonder if he could extend his script to the MLB. Since he used basketball-reference for the NBA ones, I wonder if he could do the same for MLB using baseball-reference. The reason I'd rather the Nationals win in 6, is because I don't want to mess around in a game 7.
Also, that start by Urquidy is what I love about postseason baseball. A lesser known pitcher steps up on the big stage, and looked like the best pitcher on the team for 5 innings. The Indians had something similar in 2016 when Josh Tomlin helped shut out the Cubs in a 1-0 game. The Indians used 4 pitchers, but I think it's tough to hold any team to 0 runs.

Gerrit Cole got the James Harden treatment on that strikeout to Robles in the 7th. That was way out of the zone.
Cole has great numbers, but it makes me nervous that a lot of his strikes are on hitters chasing balls out of the zone. Or in this case, getting a called strike on a pitch out of the zone.
If there was a similar pitcher but someone who pitched more borderline pitches closer to the strike zone, and still got strikes, I'd prefer him.
I think one of these years, hitters are going to stop swinging at some of his pitches, and he's going to get more balls and walks.
But it's usually not that simple, as it's hard to find many comparable pitchers to Cole.

You want to explain the bad call ? and to think the Tigs had Scherer and Verlander years ago and didn't keep them.

You want to explain the bad call ? and to think the Tigs had Scherer and Verlander years ago and didn't keep them. After watching it a ton of times, the only explanation I have is that the runner hit the Gurriel's glove, and that was interference. Other than that, I think Trea ran the best route he could to 1B, and didn't deviate from that path. I wouldn't have called interference.

Happy for the Nations Capitol. You think maybe Trump influenced things ?

Don't know.
I think winning 5 elimination games in which they trailed, is even more impressive than winning 4 road games in a series.

I think Cole, because he's 29 vs. Strasburg's 31.
Cole is also the big physical type (6'4, 240 lbs). Actually Strasburg is close too, 6'5, 235 lbs. I guess Cole just looks bigger.

BillLaimbeer , what did you think of the playoffs and World Series? Honestly, I rarely pay attention to any baseball except the Tigers.

These are the kind of contracts that cripple an organization.
Look what's happened to the Tigers with Victor Martinez, Miguel Cabrera, and Jordan Zimmermann.

Angels are paying Garritt Cole $320 million.
It's crazy...and then cities want to use tax dollars to pay for stadiums.
