Starting Pitching:
Even, but I'd give the edge to the Dodgers.
One thing though. So far in the playoffs, the Dodgers have faced starting pitchers who use more fastballs and changeups.
On the Astros, Verlander, Morton, and McCullers Jr. will use a lot of curveballs and sliders. It could be an adjustment for the Dodgers, as they haven't seen so many in a while.
Houston could have the advantage here because of this.
Bullpen:
Dodgers.
Hitting:
Even, but maybe slight edge to the Dodgers.
Astros might be better at contact. Dodgers are better at power.
Base Running:
Astros
Outfield Defense (catching and throwing):
Astros
Infield Defense (fielding):
Even, but I think the Astros are more likely to make mistakes. So slight advantage Dodgers.
Infield Defense (throwing):
Astros
I think the teams are evenly matched overall.
The ledger says the Dodgers, although a game can be won or lost for reasons not mentioned (wild pitches; catchers' interference; runs allowed via errors).
Dodgers in 7.
Astros Astros Dodgers Dodgers Dodgers Astros Dodgers
MVP: Darvish if pitcher, Bellinger if hitter.
I don't have fun MVPs, I can't think of that surprise person right now. It seems that the surprises were used in the LCS.
Grandal, Puig, Springer, or Beltran would have been fun MVPs. I don't know why I didn't pick them.
Ok, if the Astros win, I'll say Beltran wins the MVP.
Astros have a bigger bucket of fun MVPs to pick from, since surprise players weren't picked in the LCS.
Wow, the Astros have Liriano? What if he pitches in long relief? He could be a fun MVP to pick as a long reliever in an extra innings game.

I changed my mind. I like contact hitters. Astros winning the 7th game.
MVP: Correa/Beltran if hitter, Morton if pitcher.

I'm cheering for Verlander but the Dodgers may be too much for the Astros to overcome.

One of the best World Series games I've ever seen.

One of the best World Series games I've ever seen. I'm guessing most of the east coast missed the end of this one. Game #1 (2:28) was one of the shortest WS games in recent times while Game #2 (4:19) was one of the longest.

One of the best World Series games I've ever seen. I'm guessing most of the east coast missed the end of this one. Game #1 (2:28) was one of the shortest WS games in recent times while Game #2 (4:19) was one of the longest. I used the DVR. I went to bed when it was 1-3 in the 8th inning. I thought I'd finish the game in the morning. I started resuming in the morning, then had to pause it at the start of the 11th as I had to go to work. I made it the entire day without the results being spoiled. Then on Thursday night, I resumed the game. I was prepared for a long extra innings game. But it really ended in the 11th. I usually only DVR games if it's the playoffs, or a big regular season game I really wanted to see. For any sport. I can't keep up with this during the regular season. It was a great game, though. Except for the Astros bullpen. They still look like they have control issues right now.

Who's your MVP? I also missed doing the Taco Bell stolen base predictions. That would have been a fun item to guess.

Watching game 3 on the DVR, it's the 2nd inning.
I don't understand what Darvish's game plan against Gonzalez was.
The hot/cold zone showed that Gonzalez was hot up and away.
But Darvish kept pitching him there.

Gurriel had the loudest non-HR I've seen.
It was a double, but I thought it was a HR for sure.
I also can't believe Springer's ball in the 7th wasn't a Grand Slam. It sure seemed like it, instead of a fly out.

I like how Darvish talks for like 60 seconds and then his translator gives a 10-second translation.

I think Verlander will choose the Camaro.

If they use the same cars as the ASG, and it's a Corvette instead of the Camaro like during the 2015 and 2016 WS, then I think the winner will pick the Corvette.
I do think if it's a Camaro, and it's one of my Houston picks (Correa/Beltran/Morton), then I could see them picking a truck.

I don't think Altuve gets MVP. Right now, depending on who wins the series, I think it's Springer or Forsythe. Verlander needs a shutout to get considered for MVP. Here are the only pitchers to win WS MVP with 2 starts: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Series_Most_Valuable_Player_Award* Johnny Podres in 1955. 2 ER in 18 IP. 2 CG, 1 SHO * Don Larsen in 1956. Perfect game in game 5. * Bob Turley in 1958. 5 ER in 16 1/3 IP, 1 SHO. * Whitey Ford in 1961. 14 scoreless IP. 1 SHO. * Sandy Koufax in 1963. 3 ER in 18 IP, 2 CG Only 1 pitcher (RP too) won MVP between 1969-1984 * Brett Saberhagen in 1985. 1 ER in 18 IP. 2 CG, 1 SHO. * Orel Hershiser in 1988. 2 ER in 18 IP, 2 CG, 1 SHO. * Dave Stewart in 1989. 3 ER in 16 IP, 1 SHO * Jose Rijo in 1990, 1 ER in 15 1/3 IP. * Tom Glavine in 1995, 2 ER in 14 IP * Livan Hernandez in 1997, 8 ER in 13 2/3 IP * Randy Johnson in 2001, 2 ER in 17 1/3 IP, 1 SHO * Josh Beckett in 2003, 2 ER in 16 2/3 IP, 1 SHO * Cole Hamels in 2008, 4 ER in 13 IP. * Madison Bumgarner in 2014, 1 ER in 17 IP Out of these pitchers, these are the only ones who had less than 2 wins: * Don Larsen in 1956 (1-0) * Josh Beckett in 2003 (1-1) * Cole Hamels in 2008 (1-0) Verlander's current stats: 3 ER in 6 IP. Out of pitchers to win with 3+ER, Cole Hamels in 2008, or doing a 10 inning Jack Morris shutout in a clincher (Morris had pitched 23 IP in the WS though) would be his best comparisons.
