Another excellent decision by JV. You mean marrying Upton, right? You don't mean skipping the parade, right? Lol.

Lol. - Engaging a super model - Accepting the trade to HOU and picking up a Championship to likely put the cherry on top of his HOF application - Not skipping his wedding (to the supermodel) so that some fans that he barely knows can gawk at him for a couple hours. He basically had 2 choices and went with the unlimited sex option.

Would you have felt the same way if the parade was in Detroit?
Also, I wonder how feasible moving the wedding date was, especially after he got traded to Houston.
He also would have had many options for unlimited sex.

There are few things in life justifiable to skip your wedding for.

There are few things in life justifiable to skip your wedding for. I'm not saying he should have skipped it. I'm asking that as soon as he was traded to Houston, when the possibility of a long playoffs run was there (which wasn't there in Detroit), could he and Upton have moved the date. The end of the World Series (game 7 date) was always known. So when he joined on September 1st, could he have seen he was now on a playoffs team, and thus could both he and Upton have moved the date. Is 2 months (September 1st) enough time to move the date?

Is 2 months (September 1st) enough time to move the date? Why would they want to? So they could also attend the parade? Dwight Gooden regrets being too stoned to attend the Mets parade. Plus, this would also allow for his Astros teammates to also then attend the wedding (whomever wanted to). I'm sure some of them would have wanted to be there for the wedding too. Like maybe Altuve. I also don't think a parade is about fans gawking at the players. It's about celebrating the team's accomplishments. One of the last times to do so. And fans showing appreciation for the accomplishments by reliving and retelling them. Depending on how elaborate the wedding was, maybe it was possible to postpone the date. Maybe not. But that's probably a decision that could have been made within the first few days of September.

You'd literally have to be insane to move your wedding to Kate Upton because of a non-paid work social event that your new employer is throwing.
She was deep into the wedding planning back in February. Aside from a death in the immediate family, he was locked into this thing.

I was only vaguely aware the World Series was going on. Then a friend told me about it. He's a Dodger fan. I told him I don't care but I would prefer to see Houston go because I didn't ever remember them winning. Then I said, that's impossible. You must be talking about the NLCS! He insisted though. So I told him somebody must have switched leagues and so I looked it up and found out what happened. After 50 years in the NL with nothing they must be happy they did it. I am happy for Verlander but extremely jealous in more ways than one. What a life!!
