Seeing if we can get a discussion going.
I heard a stat last week that the Indians had something like a .182 team wide batting average, and had a winning record.

It would be sad if they had a small attendance....even with free tickets.

It would be sad if they had a small attendance....even with free tickets. Oakland has had 5 games with less than 11K attendance this year. Last year they had 8 total. What they've been doing, isn't clicking with the fans. Maybe the plan is for ownership to trade away players to try and force someone's hand to get a new stadium done, and say they'll spend money then. There was a new proposal in September here: www.si.com/mlb/2017/09/13/oakland-athletics-new-stadium-site-chosenBut then the district killed the plan in December: www.eastbayexpress.com/SevenDays/archives/2017/12/06/as-ballpark-proposal-at-laney-college-abruptly-scrappedThere also seems to be a conflict between with the city wants, and what the team wants. The city wants it in the Jack London Square area. It's already a pretty nice area, and will be even nicer with a new stadium. The team wants it at the current location, and offered to buy the current site from the city, in an open letter, a few weeks ago: I don't think the city wants to give up that current site for $135M. They see it as an asset. But then they don't plan to renovate it either.

For what it's worth, I think there will be even more tail gating than usual, because the gates are opening early. To allow for the general admission seating for today's game.
Also, thinking about the Marlins, can't even say that they've spent more after the new ballpark, because of what Hurricane Jeter is doing to the team.

The Hurricane Jeter ownership group sucks. They didn't keep the same broadcasters. Imagine if the main enjoyment of a Marlins fan in recent years was the way the broadcasters could keep it entertaining. And now they're gone. They told a scout they weren't bringing him back while he was having cancer surgery. They traded Stanton to the Yankees, of all teams. They also let Ichiro, Ozuna, Dee Gordon, Edison Volquez, and Yelich go. They fired the mascot person. Season Ticket Holder Marlins Man, has been a season ticket holder from the beginning. He increased his seats from 2 seats to 4 seats, and offered $200K for the next 3 years, all paid up front. His offer was rejected. He would have paid less per seat than last year, but his point was also that Marlins traded away all of their good players. He shouldn't be paying as much. But to offset it, he offered to pay for 3 years up front, and increase the amount of seats. Those seats will probably be unused now, due to the poor quality of the team. I met Marlins Man once. He's a nice guy. He also gives way a second pair of Marlins season tickets to every game, for free. He wants to "pay it forward". sports.yahoo.com/marlins-rejected-200000-check-marlins-man-season-tickets-171927047.html

I'm surprised they didn't let Fullmer hit against the Pirates today, and that they pulled him for a pinch hitter in the 6th.
It was a 0 all game.
Even in a game between 2 NL teams, you'd rarely see a SP pulled in a 0 all game, and most of the time not in a 0-1 game.

No need to mess around with him, especially in cooler temperatures.

Is that reasonable? www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KAGC/2018/4/27/MonthlyCalendar.html

You don't want to stretch a young pitcher out early in the season when the weather is cool. There was absolutely no reason for him to pitch another inning.

I still have never watched a position player pitch when watching a game.
Highlights after the fact like this don't count.
