I usually don't like hires that are only because of former ties to the team. I don't think it works out most of the time, whether in college, the NBA, or other sports. What did Mullin do at St. John's? Also, another indicator is that would any other team have interviewed Howard? If the answer is "No", then it's not a good hire. If another team also thought he would be a good coach, then it probably means he's earned the job opportunity. I agree. I think Juwan Howard will be a train wreck at UM. I am wrong so far about this one. Juwan has signed 3 big-time prospects already. |
