Yahoo Fantasy with more moronic changes.
Now, when you register for a league, it creates a team name for you. You can change it later. But it's dumb that they don't just ask you for the team name when registering. They should make it mandatory.
What, are they afraid someone's going to lose interest and spend the 14 seconds it would take to come up with a team name? If that person who is registering doesn't have enough time to come up with a team name, then they're probably not an active manager anyways.
At first, I thought people were actually creating these team names.
But now I realize they were auto-generated, because I checked one of my leagues where I didn't enter a name, and saw it followed the same pattern.
Here's some of the auto-generated team names for Survival NFL:
* My Wondrous Pick Set
* My Super Pick Set
* nuraman00's Awesome Pick Set
It looks like they randomly generate an adjective.
What a waste of code. Why not implement a useful feature?
Or make Survival NFL actually look like the rest of Yahoo's fantasy leagues, and not have a look that's 6 years behind the other leagues?
They even got rid of the message boards in Survival NFL.

Just about every UI change Yahoo has made over the past 5 - 6 years has been bad.
* When using the Commissioner tools to invite managers, they import your Yahoo email contact list and display them in a big box. I don't want to invite people from my Yahoo address book. It's a big grid that takes up a lot of space, with hundreds of email addresses, and it can't be hidden.
They made this change several years ago.
They should have just had a simple text field, that auto-completes email address from your email address book, if they wanted to have that as a feature.
* But, for today's change, they changed the fantasy league pre-selected avatars for basketball. They made all of the background colors bright.
It actually applies to baseball too. I went to this season's baseball league, and I see those avatars are changed too.
I don't like it.
* Oh, one of the dumb changes from a few years ago was creating an alliterative team name for you. Now when you join a league, if you don't specify a team name, it will use your SN in an alliteration and form a name.
Examples:
* My Wondrous Pick Set
* My Super Pick Set
* nuraman00's Awesome Pick Set * Amner's Genius Team * Terry's Tip-Top Team * Jurgen's Dandy Team * Marshon's Dandy Team
Ok, they don't always have an alliteration. But you can see that they definitely generate the middle word adjective for you, and it sounds weird.
There is one league where two managers have the word "Dandy" in their team name.

ESPN basketball interface is HORRIBLE now. It's almost unplayable.

What changes did they make with ESPN basketball?
It's amazing that the two biggest fantasy sports platforms, Yahoo and ESPN, can't find better web designers.
Or, the designers that they go with, aren't all about making a better interface. There are other motives.
For example, when the ESPN message boards changed formats in the summer of 2011, the new format was supposed to help the company track usage better. Such as how long a user was reading a thread, etc. But the new format was also completely unusable. Posts would get lost. Or they had a nesting style format, so every subconversation was nested, and then it made it harder to follow the overall conversation.
For Yahoo, having them import one's email contacts, has very little to do with making it a better user interface to send out invites. It's more about pushing their brand as a whole.

And that feature of generating a team name for a manager. If someone can't spend the 30 seconds it takes to come up with a team name, then they probably not going to be an active manager.
If they think that they'll lose out on people registering for a fantasy game, because someone doesn't have the time to come up with a team name, then they're missing the point. They don't want those types of people playing fantasy games, and dragging down the fantasy community.
You want a fantasy community to have a fair and competitive reputation. At least competitive in terms of setting lineups.

I do like the start active players for the week option. That was a big complaint if you had an injured player.

Now all you have to do is click that button and it sets your lineup for the rest of the week if you want it to. Then check during 1 or 2 busy days to see if you want to make any adjustments.

The worst thing is when you click on your Watch List, you cannot see the live scoring. This is how I used to like to watch the action to see if anyone is exploding that I could immediately add to my roster.

Yahoo has that, and I also use that if I was on the fence about someone, and then see that they're exploding and that I should add them. (Or confirm that they stink and I was better off not adding them).

So, there's another change Yahoo has done to fantasy.
Now when selecting the team icon, you can get a plain one, or one with first letter of your user name.
For example, for fantasy MLB, I can get a plain colored hat, or a colored hat with the letter "N" on it.
What another stupid feature.
Now they have to show twice as many hat icons.
