Man, I've had some browser pop up virus the past few days. I've been busy running all kinds of anti-malware to try and get rid of it. They've found some stuff, but not all of it yet. I haven't been hit this badly since May 23 - May 25th, 2014. I remember that because that was Memorial Day weekend. I had to spend the entire weekend scanning and cleaning the PC, because the first few anti mal ware scans still missed some stuff. This is reminding me of that weekend. I tried all of the programs from this site. Many of which I had used in 2014 also. The programs from that link are: Chrome Cleanup Tool; Malwarebytes AdwCleaner; Malwarebytes Anti-Malware; HitmanPro; Zemana AntiMalware Portable. I also use Microsoft Security Essentials, which I set to scan weekly. malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-adware-firefox/#uninstallSome of them found stuff. But they still didn't clean everything, as the problem is still there. I ran Malware Bytes Adw Cleaner a second time. It found a few new items. I removed those. Let's see if this finally works.

I'm using one more scanner, ESET scanner. It found something. If this doesn't fix it, I think I need to restore my browsers to their default state, as shown below. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ3nRXbMVVI

Thanks. If I still see the issue next time I'm home, I'll try it. I've probably used it before, but not this past weekend yet.

I ran it on Monday. Things looked good for about a day. Then, this morning, I'm still seeing a bunch of the random pop ups. Looks like I'll need to restore my browsers to their default state soon.

I went to safe mode and restored all of my browsers to their factory settings.
Let's hope this does it.

Hey guys, in the 17 yr I've had a 'puter, I've gone through maybe 4-5. I had a ransom pop-up and flushing the browser completely did the trick. It seems after I install a FTP the computer soon failed. And I hear a lot of the malware comes through email. I have a new Lenovo Windows 10, cheap but works ok. I have big problems at a public computer lab. One is Windows 10 recommends E and other proprietary stuff like Defender. But these guys put in Avast and Chrome etc. and they can't keep them up. Because Windows can't update properly.

Yeah, I had to reset the browser to its default settings. That's too bad that Windows can't update the antivirus correctly, for you to use at the computer lab.

Had a computer scare. I turned on my computer a little while ago, and I was getting a black screen. Even after restarting the PC several times. The monitor was powered on. I was also getting a black screen on my TV connected via HDMI. I checked all of the cables, didn't see any damage or loose connections. From reading, it looked like I would need a new video card. Finally, I decided to try one more thing. I used compressed air to dust away the inside of the tower. Plugged everything back in, and I could see stuff again. Whew. I don't want any more unplanned repairs or replacements for a while, for things in general.

Yeah, I had to reset the browser to its default settings. . which browser, what defaults, and why the changes ? I restored all 3 browsers I have (Firefox, Chrome, I.E. I rarely use I.E. but did it anyways, in case it was infected.) I did the changes to help solve the pop up virus in that I described in the opening post. This video told me how to do it for all of the browsers.

This thread is misleading. I opened it up hoping to get a Browser pop virus but there was no link.
It’s ok. I got one two weeks later, anyhow, from this seedy site:
BillLaimbeermodelswomensundies.com
I guess I deserved what I got for going there.

Now that we caught him red pantied. I mean red handed. Watch him try to switch the conversation over to hot pretzels or RMZA’s to get the focus off of himself.
