Well, the NFL season is just about halfway over and there are no teams with less than 2 losses.
Correction: There is one team with only one loss. That team is the Philadelphia Eagles.
After two consecutive seasons of 7-9, who saw the Eagles starting out 6-1? That one loss is on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs.
How are they getting it done, you ask...
The Eagles offense has amassed 199 points (28.4 ppg), good for 3rd most in the NFL.
Carson Wentz is 4th in the league in passing yards (1,852) and he leads the league with 17 touchdown passes. Last season, Wentz was 18th in passing yards and 25th in TDs (16).
Strangely enough, it is TE Zach Ertz that is leading all Eagles receivers as well as all NFL TE in both receiving yards and TDs.
Can they keep it rolling? The schedule looks easy (home games vs 49ers and Broncos) for the next 2 weeks heading into the bye week. That should put Philly in the driver's seat at 8-1.
After the bye week, it's 4 out of 5 on the road. The Eagles have yet to play Dallas and will have several tough matchups including at the Rams and at the Seahawks.
A home playoff game and a 1st-round bye are certainly in the realm of possibilities. How well 2nd-year starter Wentz responds when the going gets tough remains to be seen.

I try my best to ignore the Eagles but I swear I'm cursed. My son remained an Eagles fan because he had no connection to the Detroit teams. He thanked me for going back to the Lions and taking my bad luck away from the Eagles so they could thrive. No going back for me though. IF the Lions even make the playoffs the Eagles will get a bye so they won't be the ones to knock the Leos out in round one.
I am a Carson Wentz fan though. Especially this week. My fantasy team was down 36 points going into the Monday night game. I figured there was minimal chance to win. I wasn't watching but bing bing. Two alerts that Wentz threw TD passes. Apparently it happened in the last 3 minutes of the half. So I check the score. I think "wow. 18 points but I doubt he can get another 18. Bing. TD. What? The half is over? Yep. Only 5 minutes gone in the 3rd quarter. I thought oh, I can actually win this thing. Time goes by. I check. 6 points down in the 4th Qtr. Get lost in my book once again but this time I'm hoping for the bing. After some time BINGO!! Darth wins after Wentz throws 4 TD passes. I survive my opponents 40 point Ezekiel Elliot day. Drath is
5-2 in a virtual tie for first. Thank you Carson!!

When anyone on your team scores a TD it alerts you. I nearly turned off the function a week ago.

Fantasy. But I believe there are other things you can sign up for to get real life alerts on your teams NFL scores, trades, injuries, etc.

Darth always wanted people to discuss the Eagles with him. He created his own special Philadelphia Eagles Thread. Some posters would post pictures of Eagles cheerleaders and actual eagles (flying birds) in his thread. This would infuriate Darth because he just wanted to talk football and the pros and cons of his precious Eagles. Darth got angry at people for polluting his special Eagles Thread. |

Eagles losing 9-7 at halftime to the Cowboys. Perhaps the bye week was detrimental to Philadelphia as its offense looked really bad after the opening drive. Should be a good 2nd half.

Arrgggh!! This is killing me. I wonder if they get to the Super Bowl if I will root for them?
Yeah it’s true I bailed on them but I moved to Michigan so what can I do? I’ve never taken to the lawyers like I took the Eagles because the lines were so frustrating. And now I hate them even more. I guess Carson Wentz doing great. They went through a lot to get him. I thought it might be a mistake at the time Because he came from a smaller school. But I’m still a fan of his. He seems like a good guy.
I am pretty numb concerning the NFL right now. It is inconceivable better team like the lions has done nothing in 50 years. Half century!
They started getting close to being good but now they are getting away from it. My bad!!!
The Cowboys only lost two games last year And then got knocked out in the first round but that was by Green Bay with a quarterback.
