The Tigers need to invest more on these international players.

It's strange, but he would be more valuable to an American league team.
In games where he pitches, his team could waive the DH option and have him bat in the lineup. When the relief pitchers come in, they'd just have to do some double switching to keep them from having to hit.
In games where he doesn't pitch, he could just be the DH. Or, he could be a pinch hitter and inserted in high leverage situations.

I want to see him play for a NL team to see if he can also play OF, during the games where he doesn't pitch.

The Tigers need to invest more on these international players. I'm assuming by "international" you mean other than South America. As I think they've had some decent South American players. Who is the best player from Asia to play for the Tigers? Whether as a FA/trade, or a draft pick.

We had Kida in 1999-2000 and Nomo in 2000.
Nomo was 8-12 for us with a 4.74 ERA, a 1.474 WHIP (not good). He had some nice years with the Dodgers and some mediocre ones too.
Kida only pitched 2.2 innings for us and 95.2 total MLB innings, so he was a non factor.
Btw, I've been watching videos of Shohei and the dude looks like the real deal. He looks like he'd be one of the better MLB hitters and watched a video where he pitched it 100+ mph with very nice control and balance.

I didn't follow MLB as closely back then.
I never heard about Nomo after he left the Dodgers. Now I know why.
The ERA with the Tigers isn't terrible, but that WHIP is.
Thanks for finding the video. I'll watch it later.

If Otani was on the Twins, what if it was a Otani vs. Tanaka (Yankees) Wild Card game?
Has there ever been an elimination game with two Japanese starting pitchers?

Shohei Ohtani crushed a three-run home run in the first inning in his first regular-season game in front of the home fans Tuesday against the Indians.
Advice: Ohtani finished 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and the three RBI. The highlight of the night was the homer, as the Big A burst into jubilation. Well, all except for the dugout, as his teammates gave him a mock cold shoulder before celebrating wildly in the six-run first inning. Ohtani had a rough spring, but he is proving Cactus League stats mean diddly. So far he has been everything as advertised, showing off his power arm as a pitcher while also displaying his big power at the plate. What a unique talent.

That is pretty cool that someone could do that. Hope he continues to do well.
Also, I like Japan.

I'm a big fan of the fake cold shoulder.

I think there have also been good pitched games more recently. I need to activate my account to see the more recent results for this query.

I'm a big fan of the fake cold shoulder. Yeah. That was one of the best "cold shoulders" I've seen. They didn't even attempt to turn toward him.
