From 2013-2015, I got a tabletop tree size. Probably around 3 feet. That tree could fit in the trunk of my car.

In 2016, I accidentally bought a 5 foot tree.
That year's tree had to be tied on the roof of my car.
When I say I accidentally bought a 5 foot tree, I mean that I thought I was in the table top section. Only after I'd already paid for it, and it wouldn't fit in my trunk anymore, did I realize that this one was definitely larger than the ones in years past.
With the larger lights, it was time to get new lights.
Here were 4 sets of lights I bought (the last two after Christmas):
1) Philips 80 count C9 lights multicolored (the big ones) (Red, green, blue, yellow)
2) Sylvania 120 count white and multi colored mini LED lights. (white or red, green, blue, yellow)
3) GE 100 count multicolored lights. (Red, green, purple, blue, yellow, white) (6 function) (can keep them on an individual color too and set it to steady or one of the functions like flashing)
4) Philips 60 count multi colored lights (16 functions) (Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
Here was my setup in December 2016.
I set the Philips C9 lights to "flashing".
I set the Sylvania lights to change colors between white, and red/green/blue/yellow.
After I got all 4 lights, here was a test setup below I did with all 4 lights on the tree at the same time.
Lights # 1 and # 2 set to the same modes as above.
Lights # 3, I might have set to constant on and Purple. It's hard to recall what I did from the video.
Lights # 4, I might have done some multicolored which had orange for sure, and set the mode to chasing. It would be cool if I could set them to purple and orange only, so I won't overlap with the other sets of colors from the other lights.
Should I go with the 5 foot tree again, and do 2 sets of lights in the bottom half, and two sets of lights in the top half?
I think it's too confusing if I have all 4 lights going from bottom to top. It's too hard to tell what's doing what.
I spent the calendar year thinking about if I should go back to the tabletop size. For one, it's what I was used to. And also, it's cheaper.
But if I want to use more than 2 lights, I can't fit them on the tabletop size. Maybe I could fit 3 lights, but not 4.
And I do want to make use of all 4 sets of lights I bought.
I don't want to hang them outdoors, because when I'm home, I spend my time indoors (unless I'm BBQing something, but that's just to the patio).
I also don't have a full sized ladder, so I can't easily hang things outdoors anyways.
So I guess my questions are about whether I should go with the 5 foot tree for sure, and whether the 2 sets of lights on each half is the best use of all 4 lights, or if there's any other suggestions.
