Survival NFL, NBA, MLB.
One of my goals has been to win a Yahoo Winners league in NBA. The only way to play in a Winners league is to win a public league the year before. If you win multiple public leagues, you still can only play in one Winners league the next year.
I've been trying since 2006-2007.
I've played in 5 Winners league, 3 in each of the past 3 years. Closest I got was in 2015-2016, we tied 4-all at the end of the Finals. We tied 9-9 in the season series.
The 2nd tiebreaker was seed. I was the worse seed. I lost.
I think it's stupid to have seeding decide a playoffs matchup. I'd rather just have some random category from the matchup, or a combination of categories.
At least there is some strategy that way.
I played in 8 NBA leagues last year, in an attempt to really give myself multiple opportunities to win a public league. I won a few, so I'll again qualify for a Winners league this year.
There was a 5 year stretch where I kept losing in public leagues in the playoffs. So near the end of that 5 year stretch, I said I had to play in multiple public leagues to give myself more chances to win one, and qualify for a Winners league the next year.
I only do one MLB league, because it's a lot more maintenance, due to the larger roster sizes and everyday schedule of the sport. (It's a private league I've been in since 2008).
There's one other private league I play in, it's a NBA league. I've been in it since 2006-2007. Closest I got to winning was in 2016-2017. I made it to the Finals for the first time in 11 years. It said I won at the end of the Finals.
I checked the next morning, and stat corrections made it so I lost a steal and he also gained a steal, making it now tied 5-5. I lost the regular season series, so I lost tie tiebreaker. I was worried the whole night too, that stat corrections would mess something up. I ended up being right, as it did.
Another reason I want to win this private league is that it's deep, usually 16 or 18 managers. It would feel good to say I beat out 15 or 17 others to win. Just making the playoffs is hard. But, I can't say that yet.
So those are 2 leagues I've been trying to win for a long time.

I have finalized the teams. We will have 8 teams this year.
I had the draft order randomly selected. You can view this now and find your position.
I set the draft date for Sunday, September 2 at 7pm EDT. This is a first stab. If this won't work for you, please recommend a different date/time.
I have not looked at league settings yet. If you have suggestions, feel free to throw them out here.
