If Caldwell gets fired its for this loss right there Funny but after a blowout win I feel he maybe should.

First Lions game in 45 years without a punt. The only 2 possessions that we didn't score consisted of a FG that hit the crossbar and a red zone fumble. So, we easily could have scored on every single possession AT LAMBEAU FIELD! That is crazy. And we kicked 2 FGs that surely should have been TDs.
Also of note, this was the 2nd time that the Lions have won on the road in Green Bay since Mikhail Gorbachev's resignation marked the end of the Cold War.

down goes Laim, down goes Laim * just be glad Rodgers wasn't playing hope we don't fall on our face against Brownies

I think Caldwell needs to win a P/O game this year, to keep his job.
which means we need a P/O game at FordF.

Also of note, this was the 2nd time that the Lions have won on the road in Green Bay since Mikhail Gorbachev's resignation marked the end of the Cold War. Gruden made a funny remark when they said the Lions not punting hadn't happened since 1971. He said that was also about the time the Lions last won at Lambaugh. You're right, who scores only 30 not punting once? Also, (fantasy aside) who lets their opponent walk down the field with a terrible QB and make it look like a close game? That inspires confidence? The announcer was right. Use a big defensive player to crash it in. If the Lions don't win 6 of the next 8 lighter games get rid of Caldwell. I still think they lied and didn't really sign him earlier. Why hide it? If you have a great QB and clutch WR why hold back? Cardiac kids time it is too late. Stafford's win total was equal to only two QB before age 30. Not one playoff win? Beat the Browns and Bears and then take out the Vikings on Thanksgiving. Sounds doable.Looking at the standings around the league I think the Lions are the only 4-4 team with more PF then PA. Many 5-3 teams have worse than the Lions differential too. I think even a 6-2 team.

They should have won at least 2 games that they lost. But on the other hand, they are the worst team that I've ever witnessed at scoring from the 1 yard line. It's the first time in my life that I've been rooting for a team to kick a FG on 4th and goal from the 1.
On a humorous note, the Lions dropped from 15th to 16th in ESPN's power rankings after beating GB on the road.

We only play 1 team with a winning record (MIN) for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, MIN's schedule looks difficult.

Right. Before the season I think just about everyone would've jumped at 4-4. The first half was filled with landmines. The frustrating part though is that they could easily be 6-2. Inches short.

yeah but if they were 6-2 now they would find a way to be 8-8 next Hopefully they get to 10-4 before a swoon

Sooner or later something flukey happens. Plus that is the only way they get to lose to the Eagles in round two. Oh, the painful irony...

They met in the playoffs around 20 years ago and those numbers weren't far off from the actual score! The problem is Caldwell won't let Stafford loose until it is too late. I believe the Lions could match Wentz otherwise. M. Jones and Tate are wicked recievers. The inability of the O to score from the doorstep will be their undoing. Didn't the Bears use The Refrigerator Perry in those situations. It isn't like his inexperience carrying the ball would be a bigger turnover machine than Abdullah...Sheesh.

this was a game where the Lions should've stepped on Clev's throat early and often. but no, Caldwell likes his methodical approach hoping to win it in the 4th Q. this doesn't allow the D to pin it's ears back early and often to make plays in the pocket.

My thoughts exactly. This will be there downfall. Not every team will let go of a ten point asvantage. What the hell is Caldwell pissing his pants over? This team is not improving. Talk about a Cowardly Lion coach... Kizer stayed vertical...

I'm happy with a win. I don't care about style points.

I'm happy with a win. I don't care about style points. Funny. I told my son the Lions must be improving because fans necer complained about wins before. But I believe they need to let Stafford loose or they will continue to be stuck in mediocrity. They are currently tied for 7th place with 3 other teams in the 16 team NFC.

It feels like we never go deep and that is correct. The Lions rank 24th in the NFL in 20+ yard plays. Teams that are worse than the Lions include Pittsburgh (7-2), New Orleans (7-2), and Minnesota (7-2). Perhaps you don't need the big plays to win in this league. Irregardless, our play-calling seems pretty conservative and predictable at times.

But look who is coaching Pittsburgh and New Orleans. Those smart guys can pull it off. Don't know who coaches Minnesota. If you cannot score from the 1 yard line why in the hell are you running the ball? Very predictable.

Also, Stafford can check out of those stupid plays if he reads the defense correctly.

Stafford can't override Cooter every time he knows he wastes a down. My friend and I were watching and we called pass or run with incredible accuracy. We didn't know specifically what type of pass or run but it was THAT transparent. We were cracking up but ticked off all the same.

forget who's coaching who's QBing. Roth Brees Keenum which is strange considering the targets Roth has.
now all of a sudden Saints can run the ball. And the D seems improved.
