So why did you happen to ask about James Patterson? Have you read any of his books?
You said maybe you saw the Spider movie. One storyline was about two children kidnapped and the other was about some crazy serial killer.

I don't think it has pictures, so I probably won't read it.

It’s about a president who is missing. *Oops, I should’ve used a spoiler* Yes, Bill. I think it may be a little over your head. Best to have your wife continue reading you books by Dr. Seuss at bedtime.

She has been using Kindle for the last 2 years so she is kind of confused on how to hold an actual book now. Thanks for letting me know what that book is about. The title appears to be misleading.

Well, I can clarify that. When they say the president is missing they don’t mean he missed connecting with a baseball and struck ‘out . Or that he is missing someone or some object. They mean that people cannot find him.But don’t tell your wife because it will spoil the story for her. Although, something tells me she already knows.

Do you think she and Bill are watching it together?

I read that in 7th grade. Our class then took a field trip to where there was a Shakespeare festival, and we saw 3 plays. I don't think all 3 were by Shakespeare, but one of them was probably A Midsummer Night's Dream, especially considering that we had just read that over the previous few weeks.

My favorite Shakespeare's play is "The Tempest". I am not sure why, though. Maybe because it was his last play, maybe because of love at first sight, maybe because of my wife's name mentioned there, maybe because of its intellectualism, symbolism, the New World, Synchronicity, language, maybe because of all of the above, I really don't know. However, what do I know, though, is that I like everything that Shakespeare wrote. And I think that even if he would have written only "The Sonnets" and nothing else, he still would have been called one of the greatest poets who ever lived.

I never read the book but I saw the play around 40 years ago. I just looked it up and saw it was a comedy. I’ve read Macbeth, Twelfth Night, Midsummer Nights Dream, Merchant of Venice and a couple more. I’m almost certain one was Hamlet and possibly Othello. I know some of the story of King Lear but want to read it. I plan to read at least one every year. Why not? They are free on Kindle. The plays are brilliant even today. Maybe we read a small portion of it? Because I remember a few lines. I don't think we read Twelfth Night.

I realize it was a sign of the rimes but his play the Merchent of Venice was totally anti-semitic. Just like so many classics treatment of blacks. Doesn’t make it ok, though and that stuff detracts from the stories from me.
In Merchant, Shylock is portrayed as the bad guy for demanding a pound of flesh for wanting revenge on Antonio, who taunted him unprovoked for years. Shylock stated what he wanted, won, and was cheated in the end and the audience loves it because he was a Jew. But even the argument that he didn’t ask for blood and you cannot cut out flesh without blood is flawed. That isn’t Shylocks problem and he should’ve said “fine. Wash the blood off then give me my pound”. The guy made a stupid deal and lost. But the merchant is screwed and not Antonio.
