I'll now also try to forget I scanned the wiki page about Sherlock Holmes, as that had the death spoiler too.

Sorry. I didn’t realize you were reading his stories. I found out about it the sane way. It didn’t matter much to me because it wasn’t like I read his books in order anyhow.
8. The Guns Of Empire by Django Wexler.,. Book 4 of 5 . The last on came out in January so it’s 14 bux. I think I will just capitulate and buy it. Good fantasy series.
9. The Game. Speaking of Sherlock this series by Laurie King has him married to a much younger beekeeping apprentice. It is told from her perspective. I was excited to read this. It sucked.
10. Unfettered. An anthology of fantasy writers to raise money for a peer with cancer. Pretty good short stories overall.
11. Friends of The Dusk. My Catholic single mom exorcist priest series. Good stuff as always.
12. The Only Begotten Daughter. What would happen if Jesus’ sister came down to Earth today? Read it and find out. Good stuff.
13 . Ming Solomons Mines. The first Alan Quatermain book. He was the main vharacter in the modern movie The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Think Indiana Jones 100 years earlier. A famous movie was made of this decades ago.
14-18 later. This is a lot of work nuramano. Haha

14. Murder In G Major- Alexia Gordon. A new mystery series (3rd book just out) where a black woman music professor moves overseas, has bad luck and it’s like the Ghost and Mrs. Muir but she proves the innocence of a ghost who was wrongly accused of killing his wife and then committing suicide. Really liked book one and look forward to the next. .
15. Airport-Arthur Hailey. Famous book and movie from around 45 years ago.!Hailey did great research into industries-airports, Hotel, medical, auto, etc. Great book even though much has changed in airports. I learned so much about things and people I never thought about.
16. Dante’s Inferno. The levels of hell. Had a ton of influence into scaring people to go to and support the church and influence current perceptions of heaven and hell. Wrote one of the greatest works in history over the death of an unrequited love and died a day after he completed it. I guess it suffers a lot being interpreted from Italian.I thought it was mediocre.
16B. RMZA- The title says it all.
17&18 (maybe 19) next.

Books 14 - 16 are so diverse from each other. You have a wide range of tastes and can jump from one to the other.
Nice.

I now need a break between books from any genre. So I usually dont read two in a row from a genre. But mostly fantasy, mystery, and a few thrillers. 17 & 18 are quite diverse as you will see later, but GREAT books, IMO.

17. War of The Flowers- wow! Great book by Tad Williams. His faeri world building makes you feel like you’re there. Best adult dark fantasy fairy tale I’ve ever read and one of the best fantasy books I’ve ever read. Tad Williams is my 2nd favorite fantasy other. I loved two of his series, this standalone was incredible. One series I quit after one book. Even his short stories stand out.
18. Phantom of the Opera. Great classic! Very readable.
19. A Great Reckoning. Maybe my favorite by Louise Penny. I’ve read around 11. One was dumb. One ok. The rest excellent!
OK nuramon. I’m done at least for now.

How many hours do you spend reading a day?
What are the characteristics of a dark fantasy?

11. Friends of The Dusk. My Catholic single mom exorcist priest series. Good stuff as always. 12. The Only Begotten Daughter. What would happen if Jesus’ sister came down to Earth today? Read it and find out. Good stuff. 14-18 later. This is a lot of work nuramano. Haha I didn't know there were stories with religious twists like this. If you’re interested: I also mentioned Lamb. Lamb: Christopher Moore- regarded as his best/ funniest book. The angels are insructed to add another gospel about Jesus’ missing years. So they resurrect Biff who they say “but he’s an asshole”. He’s a really good guy though. Imagine Jesus spending his missing 30 years with him. As I said, the writer claims he’s only received positive responses from churches, etc. 2. The Merrillee Watkins series is great. She’s a young pretty mom who after getting “ the calling” after her husband and his mistress die. She has a daughter who is around 14 going on 30. She needs to win over the town and male oriented Catholic church. Then she gets the added dutis of Deliverance minister (exorcist) for the surrounding other small towns. . There are hints of the supernatural throughout but you never know for sure. Great stuff., Best if you start at book one for character growth but each story is seperate mystery so not necessary. 3. The Only Begotten daughter. She’s a miraculous test tube birth (no mom). So opposite her brother Jesus. It mainly shows modern society would screw it all up again. All recommended. All of the stories are good regardless of your religious affiliations or level of commitment. All recommended.

Are there ever any religious groups that protest these books, outside of bookstores?
Like how those groups protest people going to certain concerts, telling people that if they go then they are worshiping the devil.

No idea on concerts but these books are benign. But yes, groups do protest some books outside of bookstores and I heard of a recent leftist protest.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking Darth has never read, nor has no desire to read, a James Patterson book. Because Patterson is too widely known.

I read a James Patterson book called “Along Came A Spider”. a couple years ago. It was the first of his Alex Cross series. They had a one day Kindle deal on a few of his books so I tried one. It was quite a good plot with a couple of good storylines and a nice twist ending. That being said, it isn’t the kind of mystery that I enjoy most (not pure silly cozies but “intelligent” cozies) so I didn’t buy any others. A very good book though and he must have written around 50 novels. Many of which were in the Alex Cross series.

I think I saw the movie "Along Came A Spider" 10 or 11 years ago.
What are examples of things that make intelligent cozies?

I think I saw the movie "Along Came A Spider" 10 or 11 years ago. What are examples of things that make intelligent cozies? Well, a regular cozy is with a catthat helps solve the crime owned by an old lady who owns a bakery and is an amateur detective. The murder is a person killed by eating a poisoned brownie. Very cutsie and for old women. An intelligent cozy has the elements of the quirky small town residents, relatively low on graphic sex and violence and yet involves police procedurals. Realistic in other words. There is more and some argue these books aren’t really cozies. But that’s it in a nutshell.
